Vassil & Maria Bebelekov and Friends

$10Live Bulgarian music and dance party with Vassil and Maria Bebelekov and guest musicians. Mark Jenkins and Arlene Imagawa will be on vocals, Linda Green on gadulka and Randall Kirschman on tupan and Bill Cope on tambura.
Bring some light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages to help make it a party, and tips for the band.
Vassil Bebelekov grew up in a family of musicians and started playing gajda at a very early age in the Rhodope Mountains region of Bulgaria. A graduate of the Plovdiv Conservatory of Music, he also taught at Shiroka Luka Music School and accompanied many famous singers, including Koutev Ensemble soloists. In the U.S., Vassil has achieved further renown as a workshop teacher and performer.
Maria Bebelekova also grew up in the Rhodope mountains and learned singing from her family. Both Maria and Vassil have taught at the Shiroka Luka Folk Music School and performed widely.
